I See Nothing @ Money Plays Open Mic

David and Rudy Thomas - I See Nothing (Live) by dmtspeck
Rudy and I went to an open mic at Money Plays on Thursday January 5th and we got to play one of my songs for a crowd of about 30 or so. Take a listen! The open mic is hosted by Mike Ziethlow and he does something pretty awesome for the performers: he records and mixes every track throughout the night and uploads it to his website, vegasonthemic.com One of the other performers, Jen Creason, snapped photos of all the acts so huge thanks to Mike & Jen for being so supportive of the local music scene. Go check out their websites, download some tracks, look at some photos...lots of underground-ness for your listening pleasures.

Yo. Here is a flyer that I made for 3d6's show at the Las Vegas Doubledown on Jan. 7th. Also, a slight variation.

Something Really Old

This is what I turned in a long time ago for my Adv. Digital Imaging final. Found it hiding in my unorganized files...

Oily Oily Oixen Free

Worked on the oil painting a bit more. It was nice to just chill outback and listen to music. But it sucks that we have a laser sun in Las Vegas...Looking back, I am not really digging that wall. I couldn't really get the right hue. I will have to keep trying because there is more that I want to do to this one contrast-wise. I learned a lot about mixing colors and I am starting to really see the pros and cons of using a paint that takes so long to dry.

Last Friday June 25th 2010

Here are a couple pictures from the first Last Friday which is going down the Last Friday of every month outside of Living Dead Tattoo. Someone spelled my name wrong so I had to get a shot of that.I had never done any type of art showing before so I was stoked when I sold two paintings by the end of the night. I could not have done it without my older brother Rudy. He helped me with my setup a lot! I almost lost shit in the strong gusts of wind but then we made it work. You can see that shot of me and my dad in the sun. I had my guitar and I was playing some songs and gypsying around. Word.

My homies Jon and Ryan also took part in the event. I got a couple snapshots of their setups. Then there was some art by my brother's friends, Darin and Heather. Awesome stencil stuff. The whole thing was a lot of fun and it seems like the next one should be even better because we have more time to promote and prepare. Some artists flaked but there was still about 13 or 14 who showed up proper.
