A Few Gifts...

Yo, here are some paintings I did as holiday gifts. A sexy bitch for Andrea, the God Cat for Carin, and an awesome portrait/re-interpretation of Munch's "Scream" for my brother Matt. Check it out.

Background Composite

I never tried to post a video before, but here is something I rendered in After Effects. I created these backgrounds using references and stuff in Photoshop and then I tried to do some "camera" moves. Check it out. I think the song I used is called A Peak In Time by Cut Chemist.

EXPLOSION!

I'm saving up the energy for some craziness. I am gathering this craving to improve. I bathe in the humiliation of my failures and I see how everything I have done can be better. I have learned a lot and I need to step up my game. The heart of the caged tiger, the sword of the samurai, the seven chakras... everything. I'm not going to make shitty art anymore like Ruel said and I need to just get better and really use all this shit. There's not much time left, and I've fucked up enough so here we go! I will start by posting something I kind of felt weird about posting, but I'm not sure what has stopped me from immediately blogging everything I ever do. I HAVE to start posting some animations on here! The paintings and animations I finish, the videos I record...There has been a sense of fear I guess...wondering who I am and if I am brave enough to be myself in this world...fuck that. Time to shine in yo face and blind you with the awesomeness.

Stuff

I haven't posted anything in a while. I did a two-page sketch using a photo I snapped as reference. There is also a gouache/acrylic and watercolor painting of some girl's ass. I colored a comic page that I posted a while back and a cover for Jungle Lurker.

What It Isz

Okay, so what we have here, is a complete lack of respect for the law...wait...I mean, ahem...We have GODCAT! which came right out of my brizzain one night. He is on a big canvas so you can really admire his awesomeness properly. And den...we have a couple of spray/stencil pieces on canvas, color experiments if you will. Then finally I did an awesome piece as a birthday present for a friend. She is into comics and stuff so I painted her an Isz (from The Maxx) which she also has a tattoo of. It turned out pretty cool in my opinion.

Just Like Yo Momma!

Here are a couple pages from my sketchbook and a big ass canvas. The canvas is all made up crap and the sketch pages are studies from a book called Anatomy for the Artist or something like that. My style has been really loose lately and I bet I could still do more work refining, layering and detailing lots of my paintings, but I probably won't. In your face!

Piece of the Puzzle

Here are some paintings I did based off of an old 5 page Finnick comic. Both of these were on big ass pieces of canvas that were really fun to paint. Alright...later.

It's Alive!

Here is some random shit. Observations and studies. I got some canvas from Patty and I tried to paint a Photoshopped picture of myself. It was hard, I made a lot of revisions and I'm still not very happy with it. But my dog barked at it, so it must have something.

CONTEMPLATION OR PROCRASTINATION

YOU MUST CREATE, JUST TO DESTROY, SO YOU CAN CREATE AGAIN & AGAIN...
Stencils are fun, spray paint is fun. Maybe it's because people automatically affiliate either with "bad" or "illegal" (yes also in quotes, laws are just dumb imaginary rules)... shit. But art is freedom! Freedom is a mind state and not a gift and being able to instantly color the world around me is an awesome reinforcement of that feeling. So I have been making some stencils lately, starting my repertoire. Check it. I love spraying a new stencil for the first time to see that it came out clean and sharp. It's fucking tough and I have already disappointed myself with a Hendrix attempt. Gotta make the cuts thicker...and I need to really learn how to spray. Oh well learning more about a new medium and different techniques then I'm used to and that is always a good thing. But the Stephen Hawking has me super proud.

Life

I've been taking more photographs lately and most of them suck. But I have a couple cool ones (which I may post later) that are inspiring me and I hope I can go all the way with the plan and paint them or use them in other projects. I haven't done a lot of sketching lately, but when I actually said it out-loud I felt that something must be done! Even though it was just like 40 minutes to an hour, it still helps a bit. So here I go...where are those files...Oh yeah, those eyes do look a little funny...

Throw Ups

Yo. I figured I could toss up something from the break. I tried thinking of a Finnick the Jungle Lurker cover and a way to tie a couple of the adventures together. I need to study some animal anatomy and some certain environments...I also drew up some sketches from a reference site. Then there is just a page of over-lapping slop and a little sequential piece I was making up.

Miscellaneous

Yo. I was messing around with some stencils and acrylic paint. Then there is a Bruce Lee portrait done in pencil with some blending action.

Covah Ups 2

Yo. I worked on the self portrait a bit more and I painted a couple more guns. I ended up using some cool color schemes for those. I also found an old small canvas behind the couch ha. It is the mountain/tree looking thing. Then there is that weird abstract piece. I feel like painting and stuff like this is good, but I want to mess around with some more mediums. Different types of markers or something. Maybe I just need to break more of my own rules. EVOLUTION!

Cover Ups

Here's a few sketchbook paintings done in acrylic and piled on thick and quick. Ahaha that sounds funny...Anyway, I tried to paint Rob Dyrdek and his dog, then I tried to paint myself. Then the last one...I believe that was a picture of Amy Winehouse on a horse or something. Sometimes I will only paint what I'm interested in, skateboarding, guns and girls and stuff. I'm not really into cars but then there are other things I like that I never thought of painting or I just don't have good references to use. That's why I need to find more reference sites and take more photos so I can learn how to get good shots. Whatever, rant rant rant...
